How Does Composite Bonding Work?

When you come to us for composite bonding the first step is a consultation. This is where we find out all about your smile goals, and the main dental issues you feel you face.

Once we have checked there are no outstanding oral health issues, we will be pleased to discuss composite bonding with you. We can also provide alternative options such as teeth whitening, veneers and restorative dentistry where they are suitable.

Once a treatment plan based on the appropriate treatment for you is agreed, we will book you in for your treatment. All arrangements will be totally transparent including the fee you should expect for the service.

Composite Bonding Treatment Overview:

  • On the day of your visit we will ensure you are comfortable and understand the treatment ahead
  • Our highly-skilled AR Smiles dentist will prepare the dental grade composite that matches your surrounding teeth. This may happen following teeth whitening treatment in some cases.
  • Your teeth will then be lightly roughened to allow the composite material to bond with your natural tooth.
  • Once your teeth are ready, the composite is applied and moulded, correcting the underlying issue with your tooth, e.g. a crack or chip.
  • The composite material is exposed to a UV light and hardened.
  • The composite is then shaped and polished to the point it looks natural and matches the surrounding teeth.

Composite bonding at AR Smiles starts at just £250 a tooth and can last many years with the correct care and maintenance.
